I went to Amphawa Floating Market with some people from work. Amphawa is an absolutely enormous floating market around an hour and a half from Bangkok. Everything is sold from either boats or small little shops in wooden shop houses on each side of the river bank.
It's picturesque, dirt cheap and very cool. Check out the little bars and restaurants and trendy coffee shops, frequented by tons of Thais. I only saw one farang (westerner) the whole time I was there - which suits me no end!
