Makarm Tawt

I've never heard of this Thai fruit, but a Thai friend brought me some yesterday. It has a bit of a weird taste - not really sweet, not really dry - in fact, very difficult to describe - but it's so fussy to eat and with such little meat on it, it's hardly worth bothering with.

Thais love it though, so if you want to try something new, it's called "Makarm Tawt" in Thai. Ask for it at the local Thai fruit shops.
